Energy

Since 2018, EMZ Werke Manderfeld has had its own biomass co-generation plant (CHP), which operates exclusively with natural wood chips from regional forests. The specified technique (Organic Rankine Cycle) is applied, especially in the low-temperature range. It is a closed-circuit system, which is why no wastewater is produced.

A combined heat and power plant (CHP) is an industrial plant for the production of electricity and heat via a co-generation process.

Thanks to the CHP process, fiber production is self-sufficient in the interim. All processes are run with electricity and heat produced on-site. Heat is not only used for the production of wood fibers, but also for the drying and heating of wood products.

In addition to creating a cost-optimized and sustainable energy supply, we always keep environmental protection and resource conservation specially in mind when designing a project. Economic and ecological goals go hand-in-hand, and benefit both humans and the natural environment.
